Streiber School

We have a little more than 5 weeks left of school and a lot is going to be happening here. We are in the middle of MCAS testing for children in grades 3, 4, and 5.

We have Fun Day planned for the children on Tuesday, June 15th.

Kindergarten Graduation will be on Wednesday, June 16th and 5th Grade Graduation will be on Friday, June 18th.

Winter Vacation Is Next Week

The year is going by so quickly. Please remember that next week is our Winter Break and the children will not be in school from February 15th-February 19th.
Kindergarten Registration will be the week of March 15th - March 18th. If anyone is looking to register try to stop by the school during regular school hours that week.
The PTO is sponsoring a Movie Night this Friday, February 12th at 6 P.M. in the cafeteria. We hope many families can join us for this fun event.
Flyers went home about an upcoming Taekwondo Championship in April. The event is free for any Streiber School student. If you are interested in attending, please fill out the paperwork that went home. We are hoping to have a group of children who will attend. Last year we had our third grade attend and they took home a trophy which is displayed in the lobby.

Winter is here!

Please remember to send your child to school with warm clothing, including gloves and hats. We do go outside and I want to make sure that everyone stays warm.

It's almost time for our Christmas Break. School is in session until this Wednesday and then we do not return until Monday, January 4th. I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday.

1st Term Ends Today

Wow, I can't believe today is the end of Term 1. Grades close today and it made me realize how quickly time goes by. Please make sure you attend your child's report card conference over the next week. It is a great way to communicate with your child's teacher and see how he/she has been doing. This is also a time for you to ask any questions that you may have.

Looking ahead, we have one more day of school and then we are off Wednesday-Friday for Thanksgiving break. I wish all the familes a Happy Thanksgiving. We return back to school on Monday, November 30th for the start of Term 2.

Thank you for all of your support so far this year. We are just starting our second fundraiser which is the calendar raffle tickets. All of the money earned goes directly towards the children for school field trips and activities throughout the year.

What's New At Streiber?

I can't believe it is almost the end of October. The children are settled into the routines of school and are working hard each day. Thank you to all of the families who participated in our first fundraiser. The money earned helps support the school events and field trips. We are lucky to have such a strong PTO.
If at any time you have any questions or concerns regarding your child, please feel free to contact the school so we can help.
The weather is starting to get colder. Please have your child bring a jacket or sweater so they are warm when outside in the morning and at recess.

Back to School

School will be back in session very soon. I am looking forward to everyone's return. Class lists will be posted on the front doors on Friday, August 28th at 3:00 P.M.

The first day of school will be on Tuesday, September 1st for grades 1-5. Kindergarten will begin on Tuesday, September 8th.

School hours are from 8:30-2:38. If your child arrives after 8:40 A.M. a parent will need to come to the office to sign him/her in.

Summer Vacation

Wednesday, June 24th is the last day of school. Dismissal will be at 11:30 A.M.

I hope everyone has a happy and safe summer vacation. School will be back in session on September 1, 2009.
